The bursary is available to students pursuing degrees in Accounting, Management Accounting & Finance, and Marketing within the Commerce sector. It also supports students in Information Technology fields, including Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Communication Networks, Information Systems, and Software Development.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify, applicants must be South African citizens currently in Matric or those who have already completed Matric. They must be accepted or provisionally accepted at an accredited South African tertiary institution and be enrolled in a Commerce or IT-related degree in 2025. Academic excellence is a key requirement, with applicants needing a minimum of 70% in each subject and an overall average of 70% in their previous academic year. Additionally, applicants must come from a previously disadvantaged background, with a total household income not exceeding R350,000 per year. Beyond academic performance, candidates must show strong leadership qualities, a dedication to their studies, and a commitment to giving back to their communities.

Required Documents

Applicants must submit a certified copy of their ID, along with their certified Matric results or certificate. Those already in tertiary education must also provide a certified copy of their latest academic transcript. Proof of provisional admission or acceptance from a recognized university or tertiary institution is required, as well as proof of residence or private accommodation if applicable. Certified copies of parents’ or guardians’ ID documents must also be included, along with proof of household income in the form of a payslip, employment letter, or an affidavit if unemployed or informally employed. If applicable, applicants must provide a SASSA letter. A motivational letter is also required, detailing the applicant’s career goals, achievements, and commitment to making a positive impact in their community. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
