BET Software invites South African students to apply for the "Dare To Dream" Bursary Programme for the 2025 academic year.

Bursary Application Closing Date: 15 September 2024

Bursaries will be awarded for undergraduate (Higher Certificate, Diploma, or Degree) and postgraduate studies within the following ICT-related fields:

  • Information Technology and Information Systems
  • Computer Science
  • Information Systems
  • System and Network Administration
  • Software Engineering
  • Computer Engineering
  • Cybersecurity

The bursary may provide full or partial cover for study-related expenses – the amount of cover will depend on the candidate’s field of study and academic results.

The bursary will cover one year of study at a time – students can reapply for funding each year. Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete assessments and attend interviews before the final selection is made.

Applicants will receive feedback on the status of their application (whether successful or unsuccessful) by the end of December 2024.

Requirements

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

  • You must be a South African citizen.
  • You must have completed Matric.
  • You must be studying or have met admission requirements to study towards a Higher Education qualification in one of the ICT-related fields listed above in 2025.
  • You must be studying or registered to study at a recognised higher learning institute in South Africa.
  • You must have achieved a minimum 60% average in your current year of tertiary studies.
  • You must have attained a minimum 65% average in your current high school year.

Application Documents

Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your online application (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application may be disqualified):

  • Letter of motivation.
  • Certified ID copy of the applicant.
  • Letter of acceptance from an accredited tertiary institution, indicating the full registration, tuition, and examination fees, along with the course duration for both first-year students and returning students – qualification and academic year to be specified.
  • Statement of account and quotation from the institution for returning students.
  • Detailed quotation from the Higher Education Institution for applicants applying as first-year students.
  • Certified copy of Matric results for applicants applying as first-year students.
  • Academic transcripts for the previous 12 months of study.

Additional Benefits

Recipients can apply for further funding with each additional year of study. Once bursary recipients have successfully completed their studies, they can also apply to join the BET Software Graduate Programme, which offers potential work-back experience.
