IITPSA Bursary for ICT Students
Overview: The IITPSA bursary aims to address the shortage of ICT skills in South Africa by supporting talented, top-performing students in their educational pursuits. As a SAQA-recognized professional body, IITPSA is committed to helping students complete their degrees and contribute to the growth of the industry and economy.
Bursary Details:
- The bursary covers full tuition fees, registration fees, exam fees, university-administered accommodation, and textbooks.
- It is granted for a three-year degree in the following fields:
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Applied Computing
- Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in Information Systems or Informatics
- The bursary is awarded for one academic year at a time. Renewal for subsequent years depends on satisfactory academic performance and does not cover repeat subjects or modules.
Computer Programming Olympiad:
- The Olympiad, a project of IITPSA, has been running since 1984 and aims to:
- Identify, encourage, and reward programming aptitude
- Promote and encourage computer studies
- Create awareness of career opportunities in ICT
- Preference will be given to the highest-placing girl in the Top 3 rounds who intends to pursue ICT studies at a recognized South African tertiary institution. If no girls apply, preference will go to a high-placing candidate in the competition.
