SANSA Postgraduate Bursaries 2025
Overview: South Africa aims to increase its science and engineering graduates to meet national development goals. SANSA offers postgraduate degree bursaries to contribute towards this target for qualified postgraduates in science and engineering.
Bursary Criteria: The selection of successful applicants is based on:
- Financial need
- Academic potential
- Career-oriented study programmes
Application Requirements:
- Upload FULL academic record and fee statement for ALL study years
- Complete the application form in full
- Upload certified accompanying documents
- Supervisor's testimonial forms from SANSA or university must be completed and uploaded
Bursary Values (2025):
- Honours: One year @ R100,000
- Masters: Two years @ R120,000
- Doctorate: Three years @ R140,000
- Masters and doctoral bursars must reapply annually for continued funding
Additional Information:
- Applicants may only hold a merit award, not a combination exceeding the specified amounts
- SANSA may provide top-up bursaries if the applicant holds another bursary of lesser amount
- Support for subsequent years depends on satisfactory progress
Application Deadline: Submit completed applications by 30 September 2024 for consideration for the 2025 bursary.
