Santam
The Santam Bursary Programme aims to create a pipeline of skilled individuals in the financial services sector, with a focus on the short-term insurance industry. The program supports students in actuarial science, agriculture, underwriting, hydraulics, and insurance assessment, ensuring Santam and South Africa have the necessary skills to grow the economy.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must be South African citizens.
- Must be a second, third, or final-year undergraduate, or an Honours student in 2024.
- Must be pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma, Bachelor’s degree, or Honours degree in one of the following fields:
- Actuarial, Data Analytics, Data Sciences, Statistics
- Agriculture
- Civil, Geomatics, Mechanical Engineering
- Construction
- Insurance Technical Accounting, Economics, Finance, Mathematics
- Risk Management
- Must have achieved an average of 65% and above for their undergraduate degree and in the latest examinations (mid-year/June).
- Specific criteria apply to Agricultural applicants (details available on the application page).
Benefits: The bursary will cover (capped) the following expenses:
- Registration/Tuition fees
- Accommodation (Deposit, admin fees, etc.)
- Learning materials (Books, e-Manuals, etc.)
- Laptops
- Monthly allowance
- Travel/Transport allowance
Selection Criteria:
- Based on academic potential and motivation for a career with Santam.
Application Process:
- Applications must be completed online by 30 September 2024.
- Only applications from South African citizens will be considered.

Additional Information:
- Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews.
- Successful candidates will receive award letters.
- Candidates who do not receive feedback by 31 December 2024 should consider their application unsuccessful.
