Siemens Bursary Programme: What’s Offered

The Siemens Bursary Scheme is committed to funding higher education for academically talented, previously disadvantaged students who are passionate about building a career in Engineering and Technology. The bursary supports critical, high-demand qualifications in South Africa, including:

  • BSc/B.Eng. Electrical Engineering (Heavy and Light Current)
  • BSc/B.Eng. Electronic Engineering
  • Bachelor of Engineering Technology
  • B.Eng. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Mechatronics)

This bursary is designed to help students achieve their academic and career goals while contributing to a brighter future.

Who Should Apply for the Siemens Bursary

Siemens is looking for students who align with their values, are academically strong, and committed to creating a positive impact. Below are the specific eligibility criteria:

For Grade 12 Applicants

  • Completed Grade 12 with a minimum Level 5 in English, Pure Maths, and Physical Science
  • Unemployed South African citizen aged 18-25

For University Applicants

  • Minimum academic average of 65%
  • Accepted or currently studying full-time in one of the specified fields of study
  • Enrollment at a South African institution recognized by Siemens
  • Meeting all registration criteria for the institution and Siemens bursary
  • Not receiving any other financial aid (e.g., NSFAS or other bursaries)

Siemens requires applicants to submit proof of acceptance by the training institution before awarding the bursary.

Application Process for Siemens Bursary 2024

To apply for the Siemens Bursary, eligible students should submit clear copies of the following supporting documents:

  • Motivation Letter
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Certified Copy of ID Document
  • Matric Certificate (Including Grade 11 results and Grade 12 trial marks available in Aug/Sept 2023)
  • Full Tertiary Academic Record (if applicable)

Applicants should be prepared to work for Siemens during vacation periods as part of their bursary agreement. Upon meeting academic criteria, selected students will be contacted by the Siemens Recruiter or Bursary Coordinator for a virtual interview. Successful candidates will be awarded the bursary for the specific academic year.
