The Monocle Foundation invites students to apply for their bursary programme for the 2025 academic year. This bursary is specifically aimed at previously disadvantaged Black females, supporting their academic pursuits in various fields.
Fields of Study: Bursaries will be awarded for Undergraduate or Postgraduate studies in the following fields:
- Accounting
- Computer Science
- Economics
- Engineering
- Finance
- Mathematics
- Medicine
Bursary Coverage: The bursary will provide comprehensive cover for the following expenses:
- Tuition fees
- Book and study material allowance
- Laptop
- Accommodation
- Subsistence allowance
Additionally, students will receive career counseling and an MS Office course.
Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must be Female
- Must be Black (African, Coloured, Indian, or Asian)
- Must have completed Matric
- Must be studying towards an Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in one of the fields of study listed above (other fields may also be considered)
- Must be in their second or higher year of study
- Must be studying at a recognised and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
- Must be in financial need with limited to no funding towards education
- Must not be receiving any other bursary funding
