EThekwini Municipality invites eligible South African students to submit applications for the 2024 Bursary Programme.

Fields of study:

Bursaries are available in the following fields of study:

  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Medical Officers (General and Occupational Health)
  • Electronic Engineering
  • Architects
  • Quantity Surveyor
  • Valuer

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
  • South African citizen;
  • Completed Matric OR currently in Matric;
  • Strong academic record;
  • Studying or plan to study full-time towards an undergraduate qualification in one of the above-mentioned fields of study;
  • Studying or planning to study at a SAQA-recognised South African public tertiary institution.
  • Acceptance to study for the above qualifications.

Preference will be given to applicants who have passed at least their first year of studies at a SAQA recognised public institution, and applicants must include their full academic record. Applications from students who are only due to start their studies in 2024 must include proof of their acceptance from a SAQA-recognised South African public university and matric results.

  • Book allowance
  • A once-off computer allowance in the second year of study (subject to compliance with the agreement).
