The Old Mutual Bursary Programme offers the opportunity to write Africa’s story with a real African success story. Exceptional South African learners pursuing or interested in pursuing studies in Accounting (Chartered Accounting Stream) are invited to apply for the Old Mutual Bursary Programme.

What the bursary covers
The bursary covers tuition, study materials, meals, accommodation in residence and return flights home (if studying outside of your hometown). You will receive financial support for the full duration of your degree and students who achieve excellent grades will receive more incentives.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to apply you must meet the following requirements:
General:
- You must be a South African citizen.
- You must have applied/be studying at either:
- Nelson Mandela University
- North-West University
- Rhodes University
- Stellenbosch University
- University of Cape Town
- University of Fort Hare
- University of Johannesburg
- University of Kwa-Zulu Natal
- University of Pretoria
- University of South Africa
- University of the Free State
- University of the Western Cape
- University of the Witwatersrand
- You must be committed to enter the Old Mutual CA Training Programme and work for the company after graduation.
Matric Students Requirements:
- You must have completed Matric or currently be in Matric.
- You must not have a post-Matric qualification.
- You must be under the age of twenty-one.
- You must have at least 70% in Mathematics (not Maths Literacy)
- You must have at least 60% for English HL or 70% for English FAL
- You must have at least 70% for all your other subjects.
- You must be committed to enter the Old Mutual CA Training Programme and work for the company after graduation.
University Students requirements:
- You must be under the age of twenty-five.
- You must obtain at least 60% on the core modules:
- Financial Accounting
- Taxation
- Management Accounting
- Auditing
- You must obtain at least an overall average of 60% for all modules.
