South32 invites eligible students to apply for the Dr Xolani Mkhwanazi Bursary Scheme for the 2025 academic year. The bursary is open to students residing in the King Cetshwayo District in KwaZulu-Natal.
Fields of Study
The bursary covers undergraduate studies in the following fields:
- Commerce, Law, and Management: Accountancy, Economics, Finance, Business Science, Law
- Engineering, Built Environment, and Architecture: All disciplines
- Computer Science and Information Technology
- Health Sciences: Medicine, Nursing, etc.
- Humanities: Arts, Social Science, Education, etc.
- Science: Mathematical, Physical, Earth, Actuarial, and Biological Sciences
Note: Other fields of study may also be considered.
Bursary Benefits

Bursaries are awarded for 1 academic year and may be renewed annually based on academic performance and conduct.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Reside in the King Cetshwayo District (KwaZulu-Natal)
- Be under 21 years old
- Currently in Matric or have completed Matric
- Be studying or intend to study full-time toward a Degree or Diploma in one of the eligible fields in 2025
- Be enrolled or planning to enroll at a recognized and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
- Have a strong academic record
Preference will be given to students from designated groups.
