Tongaat Hulett invites South African students to apply for its Bursary Programme for the 2025 academic year. This bursary offers an excellent opportunity for students pursuing a 3-year Diploma in Agriculture at either Owen Sithole College of Agriculture or Cedara College of Agriculture.
Fields of Study
The bursary will support studies in the following fields:
- Plant Production
- Animal Production
- Agro-Processing
Number of bursaries: 10
Bursary Coverage
The bursary will provide coverage for:
- Tuition fees
- Accommodation
- Meals
Shortlisted candidates will be required to write an assessment test and attend interviews before the end of 2024.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for this bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Residence: You must reside within the Tongaat Hulett catchment areas or communities associated with Tongaat Hulett through the Land Reform process.
- Matric Completion: You must have completed Matric.
- NSC Points: You must have achieved a minimum of 24 points in your National Senior Certificate (NSC) using the rating system.
- English: Minimum of level 4 (50-59%) for English in Matric.
- Mathematics: Minimum of level 3 (40-49%) for Core Mathematics or level 6 (70-79%) for Mathematics Literacy in Matric.
- Geography, Life Sciences, Physical Science: Minimum of level 4 (50-59%) in each subject.
- Agricultural Science: Minimum of level 4 (50-59%) in Matric.
- Life Orientation: Minimum of level 4 (50-59%) (calculated as half).
- Agricultural Diploma: You must intend to study towards a Diploma in Agriculture.
- Institution: You must have applied to study at Owen Sithole College of Agriculture or Cedara College of Agriculture.
